The Associate Dean of Libraries is a member of the library’s Administrative Group and supervisor for the Director of Public Services, the Director of Technical Services, the Director of Special Collections, and the Director of the Latin American Library. He reports to the Dean of Libraries and Academic Information Resources and serves as the library's administrative head in the dean's absence. In addition the Associate Dean is the library’s Chief Collections Officer and coordinates collection development across its divisions while directing collections budget planning and expenditures, assisted by the library’s three chief bibliographers who function as a planning group. He guides planning for optimum collections and user physical spaces. He also plans and oversees library recovery initiatives including the Tulane Libraries Recovery Center and replacement of lost collections. He coordinates library compliance matters associated with the process for institutional reaccreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
