Parking and Directions

The Howard-Tilton Memorial Library is located at 7001 Freret Street in New Orleans, Louisiana. The library is near the intersection of Broadway and Freret streets, and a short distance from historic St. Charles Avenue and Audubon Park.

Please note that parking spaces are at a premium on the Tulane campus. Parking permits are required on campus 8:00 a.m.- 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Guest parking passes are available for purchase at the Public Safety/Traffic Office located in the Diboll Center. The passes cost $4.00 a day and are required Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. Permits are not required on weekends. There are a few metered spaces located in front of the library. Exact change is required for the meters. There are a few handicapped spaces located near the library and permits are required to park in them.

The Tulane Campus is in a residential setting, and unmetered parking may be found along these nearby residential streets:

Be sure to note any zoned areas; many of these residential streets have zoned parking areas.
